Alkahest (Part of Grifols) develops GRF-6021, a peptide derived from blood plasma fraction. It is being investigated for its ability to target cognition and dementia by potentially delivering restorative factors found in young blood plasma to treat neurodegenerative diseases.
Alkahest also develops AKST-4290, a small molecule chemokine antagonist. By blocking chemokines (which are signalling proteins that promote inflammation), this therapy aims to reduce inflammation, among other things.
